IMPORTANT: A reminder that Friday 6th December is an INSET DAY.

High Expectations lead to High Achievers

Home Learning At Bayside Academy we believe that homework is an important part of your child’s education

In order to develop children enquiry skills and knowledge of the world around them, we have created Home Learning Menus which contain a variety of tasks, set by the teacher, linked to the topics. Each year group will be set between 9 and 12 tasks over the half term ranging from story writing, poetry, model making, talking homework, maths activities, science experiments and much more. These can be completed with your child and presented in their home learning book (or brought into school to show, if a model).

Children are expected to read at least three times a week to improve fluency and comprehension. They also have home access to Times Table Rock Stars to improve their mental maths and can practice spellings from their planners (which are words they have found difficult to spell throughout the week).

Children in Year 6 are set more formal home learning to prepare them for secondary school and will change depending on the focus in class.
